Eating is really tough!

Pizza….not a good thing anymore!

Ok so I still try to have some things that I physically can’t have anymore.  Recently I have been able to have a slice of pizza.  Today my husband went out and got a hot and ready from Little Sneezers.  Just because I can’t have pizza doesn’t mean he should be deprived (and my boys!).

So for the simple fact that no food I cook goes down well, I decided to have a slice for dinner.  Well, I get half way through it and disaster strikes.  When something doesn’t go down well you can tell by looking at me.  It’s called a “productive burp” or PB incident.  My eyes open wide, my mouth opens and within a split second gobs and gobs of stomach saliva (also called sliming) comes up.  Sometimes I have time to get to a bathroom, others not.  Typically I never have time when i’m in a restaurant, and that gets to be a messy thing.  I find that I have to grab something and hide under the table to get rid of it.  Basically in short and sweet terms, that means that food gets stuck in my esophagus.

There are many things I can’t handle anymore… chicken (home cooked), hot dogs, hamburger, bread, pizza, pasta, and anything extremely thick in texture.

I thrive on turkey of all forms…. ground, sliced, diced, etc.  It’s the only source of protein I can pretty much eat.  I can have a small 4oz filet mignon occasionally.  I love sweet potatoes.  I do eat cereal on occasion, but sometimes it’s hard.  I can no longer drink with meals, because it’s very painful.  Salads are hard too, but then most salads are surprisingly heavy in calories at restaurants.  For instance, an applebee’s chicken caesar salad has like 1200 calories in it, which is insane — that’s more than I can consume in one day.

There is an exception… I can eat chicken only if it’s made in a restaurant.  I don’t care how you cook it at home, I can’t eat it.  I’ve even made it in the crock pot taking it down to almost mush and I still have problems.  That’s the biggest mystery.

I can’t handle custard-like ice creams either…. too thick, and that’s a shame because it used to be my favorite snack.  My friend Julie and I went to a little ice cream shop at the corner of West & Jefferson, and I ordered a custard… which was the first time since being banded.  We sat down at a picnic table and I started to eat, and immediately I had an episode.  I had to go behind the building to vomit becuase we were on a street corner.  And what was embarassing was that about 1 minute after I did that a young couple walked back there… so we scurried out of there real quick.

Life is hard now…. but I live each day knowing that i’m better because of it.

God I feel horrible………… Okay, I work out like 4 days per week… and not just some sissy workout.  I do circuit training for 45 minutes, averaging about 40,000 pounds per visit, and I do cardio for 30 minutes… at least.

For some reason right now i’m about to fall over and die.  Perhaps i’m dehydrated.  I hate drinking water, or any liquids for that matter these days, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

My kids are sleeping thankfully.  They’ve been driving me absolutely nuts this morning.  Sometimes I wish I could just runaway from it all — but I can’t.  I mean this morning i’m just a wreck.  Between my kids going insane and me not feelin good I just want to lay down.

Blaaaaaaah.  My stomach is churning from all the sliming/vomiting I did last night just because of a bad food choice.
