- Makes
- 2 Pork Chops
Ingredients
- Sauce
Method
- In one Ziploc bag, mix up the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, chicken granules, corn starch, and salt. In another bag, mix up the egg and water.
- Start by taking your pork chops and dredging them lightly in the flour. Shake off excess, and then dip in the egg. Immediately place in the flour mixture and shake around making sure it’s thoroughly coated. You can repeat this process if necessary for a thicker coating.
- In a heated pan, filled with ½” of vegetable oil, fry the pork chops until golden brown. Place pork chops on a paper towel to soak up excess oil. Make sure to reserve 1 Tbsp. of the pan drippings from the bottom (with all the bits).
- Place pork chops in an 8x8 baking dish and cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 20 minutes.
- In the meantime, in a medium saucepan, combine pan drippings, milk, soup, garlic & onion powders, and wine. Cook until heated through. After 20 minutes are up on the pork chops, pull them out of the oven, remove foil and cover with sauce. Replace foil and bake for an additional 40 minutes. Pork chops will not be crispy, but rather, full of flavor!
- Other options: To keep the crispy coating, just cook the sauce on the stove top, simmer on the lowest heat for 20 minutes or so until the mushrooms are cooked. Serve on top or with mashed potatoes. To keep it healthier, skip the frying altogether and oven bake the pork chops with just a light coating of the flour mixture and no eggs! Both alternatives are just as good.
