Well we finally booked our tickets to visit family in the U.K. We are going May 9th – May 26th. I cannot believe the price of airline tickets these days, they are insane! Matt used his air miles to get a “Free” ticket, and that ended up costing him $240 in taxes and surcharges! Heck, that is half the price of a ticket on good days. So we spent that, plus $2,300.00 on tickets for me, Chris, and Andrew – and that is really what’s insane! Of that total $800 was taxes. We are flying British Airways and they are the best airline out there, with great service… and they are the cheapest. American carriers are tooooooo expensive! When you fly BA, coach class is the same as 1st class on an American carrier. You get full meals, snacks, blankets, pillows, seatback t.v’s with GPS and all that greatness.
Matts parents are planning on renting a “caravan” in Wales for a week of our trip. A caravan is like a mobile home on land over there. I think they are planning on taking us to Barmouth and it is very pretty there.
I attempted to go the Y tonight but for some reason it was insane. There was not one place to park in the whole place. People were starting to park on the grass. I felt bad because I was going to have a workout and then we were gonna take the kids swimming. Chris and Andrew were very much looking forward to it. Chris cried a little bit but I promised him that we will go tomorrow.
To improve my lifestyle i’m attempting to go soda free. If I drink one, it’s always diet 7-up. I’m going to give it up though, hopefully for a long time. I haven’t had a pop in 2 days so that is good. Now to get the kids off of diet orange Faygo!
Matt is still working from home in the basement! I’m not sure when he’s going to go to the client site (DaimlerChrysler) in Auburn Hills. I hate that. He’s going to have to drive like 50 miles to work every day. That will eat up the gas and his car will die sooner! He’s driving an ’02 Chevy Cavalier that just topped 100,000 miles. Driving 100 miles roundtrip daily will kill that car in no time!!
