So now I have my U.S. Coast Guard / Florida Fish & Wildlife boaters education certificate (license). It took 12 hours of online learning and a 60 question practice examination and a 60 question certification exam. There are areas I need to go back and learn more about, like navigation, charts, understanding marine weather forecasts, etc. It's pretty straightforward otherwise. Now I can buy myself a novelty captains hat lol. I mean now I can in theory boat to the Bahamas which is only about 60 miles offshore but i'll save that journey for a long time from now haha!
