So my mom went and had surgery this morning, but only had her lymph nodes removed and a biopsy done. Unfortunately it looks as though she has an advanced stage of breast cancer. It's "locally advanced" which is better than I guess completely advanced. Her nodes were rock hard and full of "stuff". Survival rates are about 75% over 5 years, so it's not bad, but I'm not comforted either.
