I would like to say that Easy Off Oven Cleaner works wonders on just about any surface (well, I haven't tried it on carpet and wouldn't try it on sealed hardwood ever…). My little Picasso women had a field day with some smuggled writing utensils in their room during their nap, as usual, and their walls were the typical canvas. Even easier than magic erasers, you just spray it on, wait a minutes and ink pen and crayon just wipe off. I didn't find that it removed the paint either, which don't matter becasue their room needs painted again anyway, but it was pretty good. I also like to wipe off the chemical residue after I'm done as well just in case.
