Houston: I have a problem that I can't solve. Well, I probably could but don't want too do it the way I will probably have too. My Nikon D7000 refuses to tether to my laptop. Lightroom will not recognize it, neither will any of the other programs I use. This is why I bought a Canon DSLR now that I remember. My D90 had issues with 64bit windows. I'm not downgrading to 32bit and I do NOT want to even try to install Windows 8 to see if that fixes it. Stupid stuff like this makes me forget the Nikon I just bought and go back to my Canon. I do get frustrated easily. I was capturing the stars at 3a.m. last night night and it would have been great to not have to break my neck to stare through the viewfinder to focus on the only bright star at the time (Vega) directly above me and to use my laptop as my viewfinder. When that failed me after 2 hours of fiddling around, I attempted to locate my nice Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which has a 10.1" screen and beautifully tethers to DSLR's but one of the kids stole it and well, I got my note phone because it has OTG host capabilities and also allows me to use it as my viewfinder and many other features except it's not big enough, and I dropped it on my boot and broke it. I should blame Nikon for my phone ha ha. So what to do……. The stuff I think at 3a.m. no wonder why I never sleep 🙂
One good photo though with a touch of milky way 🙂 I added some references to my pic 🙂 The other pic is my info app and it says there is some sort of meteor shower expected near the Lyra constellation which contains the brightest stars of the moment including Vega. Tonight *could* be a good night Julie Rodriguez Harris to try some looong exposures and see what I see 🙂
