Darn Rosie (golden retriever!), showed up at our patio door with an OMG 5-6ft long snake in her mouth!!!!!!!!! She had it perfectly centered in her mouth and both sides nearly touched the ground. She wanted to bring it in to show off her kill. At first I thought it was an bike tire intertube because she likes to chew and destroy everything, second look, it had a head. I freaked out, girls freaked out, one of them opened the door and almost let her in with it while i'm screaming nooooooooooooo nooooo.
Meanwhile, Jason is trying to get her to drop it and she finally does. We get the dog in, the dog runs to side window and tries to spy on where Jason is burying it still drooling.
We hope, and think, it was one of those racer snakes, the kind that a few months ago left me semi-traumatized (lol) because out of nowhere the thing sped up to me and coiled up around my leg, and sped off. This one was all black.
We gotta watch her better because she goes after little woodland creatures (we have a cemetery in the back yard), and what if one had rabies… and I know locally there is a concern for rabid animals.
Ahh Florida life.
