Mackinac Bridge Walk 2012

This bridge walk was nice, we left at 10:00a.m. as opposed to starting at 7a.m. like everyone else because the crowds are insane.  I highly recommend to anybody going there for the bridge walk on Labor Day weekend to NOT leave when everyone else does.  It’s far less enjoyable when there are thousands of people pushing you around.  We were still getting pushed around and stuff, but not nearly as bad as I can imagine it would be.  We could actually stop for a picture for a second or two!  They should also make people aware that sure, it’s 5 miles to cross the bridge, but then if you need a bus ride back to St. Ignace on the other side, it’s another mile or better to walk through downtown Mackinaw City to get to the busses next to the Best Western near the other side of town.  That was a bit much on the kids to handle after walking the bridge, they were about read to collapse!  You can click on the images to view them larger.
