It's been a while!

Let’s see…. it’s been a while since I wrote last.  I wrote on June 16th… so it’s been about 3 weeks or so.  It has been a slowww 3 weeks to say the least.  Not much happening for me to write about really.

Last week I spent like 3 days completely sick.  I am pretty certain it was a result of my metformin medication.  I took the medicine on an empty stomach just like I wasn’t supposed too.  A couple hours later I started to feel very nauseated.  I went to bed thinking that if I just slept it off, I would feel better in the morning.  Of course not.  I got up, took a shower and somehow it took me a few minutes to realize something was wrong with me.  I couldn’t stay awake for more than 5 minutes at a time, heart was racing, achy, and other things.  This is the 2nd time this has happened.  It’s not just being sick, it is a horrible feeling, a feeling I just can’t explain.  It takes days and days to recover from this for some reason.  I never went to the doctor or the hospital, so I could never figure out what happened.  I stayed in bed all day, just hoping bedtime would come sooner hoping that the following day I would awaken better.  Well, after a miserable day bedtime did come.  The next morning I woke up, and I was a bit better, but still not 100%.  I was only about 50%.  I had to force myself up and out because the kids had to get their pictures done.  Julie also wanted to have something to eat at Olga’s.  Somehow I managed to drag my two kids out and put up with hell from Andrew in the mall.  We lost our stroller when we came back from England (complete mystery) so taking a two year old to the mall is difficult.  Anyhow, with each passing day I gained about 25% in wellness so it took a long time to recover it seemed.  For some reason i’m just not right still though.  I have been so lazy and so not normal since this happened.  I have had no energy and no desire to even leave my house.  I am not going to take my metformin anymore.

Somewhere in the last 3 weeks, as I mentioned, we took Chris, Andrew and Joey to the mall and we had their photograph done together.  They will be back on the 19th of July.  They were hardly cooperating for the photo so none of them were “excellent”.  Hopefully they look good when they come back.

My mom also lost her job at the airport.  Guardian lost their contract with DTW and Nationwide won it over.  Unfortunately, Guardian decided to pretend all of their employees signed non-compete clauses and sent a letter to Nationwide saying that none of the employees could work for them.  Guardian made everyone lose their job.  A week after all of them have lost their jobs already, Guardian mails out a letter saying that they are free to work for the other company now.  Of course they do… after Nationwide has already filled all the positions and because they realize how much they are going to have to pay out in unemployment.  My mom isn’t fretting, it’s 6 months vacation after working for them for 10 years almost.

The other day I noticed the paint peeling on my kitchen ceiling.  Matt went upstairs and noticed our roof is leaking.  There is $5000 out the door.  He has temporarily fixed the problem but we will have to have a roof put on in a few months time.  Ah well… the home owning pleasures.

What else is new…….hmmm……. Oh yes, about the only thing good to come out of the last 3 weeks is that Matt got an unexpected raise at work.  Computer Associates loves Matt and they sent him a letter saying that he’ll get a $3000 per year raise, plus a $10,000 bonus each July.  Could you imagine getting a letter like that?  We were shocked, it was almost like we won the lotto! Now his income is just $3,000 shy of the $100K mark!

That just goes to show you what money you did get, goes right out the door.  In comes a raise, out goes half of it on a roof! Ha ha….

I’m waiting for my Xbox 360 system to come.  It’s supposed to be here sometime in the next couple days.  I was hoping it came today when the UPS man left a package by my back door.  I was kinda upset when I looked in the box and seen it was a Swiffer Wetjet that I supposedly won in a contest.  They never contacted me to tell me I won, they just sent it.  Surprises come all the time when your “sweeping”.  The xbox package is supposedly valued at $1000.  I’m hoping that I can get at least $600 for it when I sell it on eBay.  I am not a gamer so I have no interest in it.

Another bad incident occured!  Chris was messing around about a week ago and hit his face (somehow) and knocked his bottom front tooth out!  He was sooooo sad.  Check out the video here:  Chris’ Toothless Video.  He was very emotional about the whole thing.  I am kinda sad because he’s going to be without that tooth for quite a while now, so therefore all his pictures will be messed up. It’s ok though, I was just hoping for a couple more years of nice smiles before the adolescent tooth loss phase starts!

I can’t wait to go on vacation again for some reason.  I haven’t decided my next destination yet.  I want to go to St. Maarten which is in the lesser antilles I think, but I also want to go to Machu Pichu.  I’m not sure what I want to do.  If we have the time i’d like to go to Castaway Bay in September and go to Cedar Point with the kids and my family.  I have anti-theme park family members (Beth and Paul) so I don’t know how much they’d contribute to the fun.

I am working on a new website.  I am trying to get away from MySpace.  It has too many limitations and too many creepy people on it.  I am happier when I design and build my own sites, that way I can do what I want.  I will post a link to my official homepage when it’s complete on my profile.  At some point I would like to rid myself of the Myspace blog and create my own.

Ok well i’ve rambled on enough for now.  I promise to write more sometime.  It’s just been a slow, boring, bad three weeks.  Well not bad, but it could have been better.  I have freakin jury duty tomorrow at the Frank Murphy hall of justice in Detroit.  It sucks rear end.  You’d think someone like me who is interested in law would be excited about it, but frankly with my current tailbone pain problem, the thought of sitting on hard wood seats for many many hours just WAITING to be called doesn’t sit well with me (literally!!).  If you went right in and were seated directly on a jury that would be a different story.  I can’t sit on my own comfy leather furniture longer than a half hour.  I am dreading it!
