Ok well i’m almost 9 weeks post-op now! I’m down 26lbs, and have stalled. That’s ok though, because it’s normal. Next week on the 10th (Matt’s b-day also) I go in for my very first fill. What’s a fill you ask? Well, I have an LAGB, a laproscopic adjustable gastric band. So basically i’m going to get adjusted. They stick a huge needle into my stomach into this little device called a port. They then gradually fill it with saline solution until the desired tightness. That restricts the amount of food capable of going into the stomach, thus you start to begin losing weight. I will be seeing Dr. Pleatman in West Bloomfield for my adjustments, but hopefully next year i’ll be able to go to Dr. Aceves again for a fill under flouroscopy (a live x-ray).
School is going well for the most part. We just had 3 tests and I did good on two of them. In Biology & Government I got a “B” on my test, but in Sociology I got a 52%, but that was the average of the class (that tell’s you something is wrong, when the average is that low). We haven’t figured out yet if he grades on a curve, if he does, that benefits us. If not, i’m screwed. But the good news is that just to pass the class I have to show up and watch his dumb movies. Most of the credit comes from that.
Our Biology teacher is a major rude *BITCH* pardon my language. She treats everyone like crap. She misses days of school, then complains when someone asks a question in class because we are so behind, and then has the nerve to walk out of class unannounced to chat with someone in the hallway for 5 minutes. She will seriously get down your throat if you dare make a comment about a lecture, or even worse yet, ask a question about it.
Our sociology teacher is just plain out confused. He bounces around the sociology text book, so we really have no idea what to study, it’s a pain in the rumpass.
Our political science teacher, as I call her “Stella”, acts as if she’s on crack all the time. But that’s understandable since she is a bankruptcy lawyer. She’s very flighty, but at the same time can also be a witch. This girl came in with a doctor’s note that says she fractured a lower lumbar disk in her back on test day, and she wouldn’t let her make-up the test. Talk about hideous… although i’d be a little suspicious to I guess since it was a “blonde bombshell” type of girl who seemed to be walking and sitting just fine in class. Who knows. Is any teacher really perfect?
Chris is in school and behind all the other kids, it makes me sad, but he is only one of two 3 year olds in the class. She is mostly teach 4 year old kids stuff. I don’t understand how she can expect him to write his name and write letters. I’m working with him, but there’s only so much I can do.
Andrew is doing good also, a lot less cranky but he’s started waking up in the night for his sucky. That gets very annoying to say the least. He’s almost sitting up on his own, and i’m thankful for that. He has such a beautiful smile!
