Gender Jitters!

JensNotes | Pura Vida

Well I hope not anyway.  Only 9 days until my ultrasound.  I figure one of a couple scenarios… 1) It’ll be a boy or 2) The baby will have it’s legs closed!  I wish I could find a way to think positive about the whole thing, but I get anxious thinking about it.  I have been doing nothing but giving myself positive pink vibes.  I even bought a pair of pink sweatpants to wear around, and i’m not a “pink” type of girl!   That’s ok though… if it’s a boy I know it was meant to be.  I figure my chances are like 70/30 since I have two other boys.  I could be one of those mom’s with all boys.  I see plenty of families set up like that.   I purposely am not drawn to one gender or another when I go to a store though… i’m supersticious about it.  I feel that if I draw myself to one set of clothes or another, i’m just jinxing myself.

Let’s see…as far as how I am feeling, I know it’s starting to go downhill already.  I am still at a 6lb loss, though I will find out for sure on Monday.  By then it could be 8lbs.  I spent the night in the ER at U of M hospital a few nights ago because my Lapband is giving me serious issues.  Some days I can eat, some days I can’t.  So they want me to see a gastroenterologist on October 10th so I can possibly have an endoscopy – where they stick a camera down your throat.  I’m really scared i’ve done some sort of damage to my band, whether it be by slippage or erosion into my stomach.  Also all of a sudden I have heart burn… and this would be normal for anybody else, especially during pregnancy, but with the band you are not supposed to get it, just like you are not supposed to vomit.  The wretching can dislodge the band.  I have done a lot of that lately.  I just hope something can be done to help me because I can’t go another 20 weeks and not eat a good solid meal.  My meals lately have been consisting of Gerber single grain baby oatmeal for breakfast and lunch, and then typically something normal for dinner.  Sometimes I can eat that normal dinner, sometimes it comes back up so really there are days when I have little to no intake.  My vitamins and liquids are keeping me afloat.

Chris started his 2nd year of Kindergarten and already he’s way better and I’m glad I made the decision to keep him there.  He seems to be the “big kid” in school and knows what he is doing now.  He will be ready for 1st grade next fall!  They have been going full days now this year, so I really think that helps things a lot!

I had to withhold Andrew going to school because his potty issues aren’t 100%.  He still has accidents and I knew that would be unacceptable for pre-school.  For that they have to be able to pull up their own pants and clean themselves, and stuff.  We’ll probably be starting up the speech therapy again real soon, because I just got a call from his teacher lady.

I can’t believe it’s going on October already, it’s amazing how time flies.  I can’t wait for cooler weather to get here, but I can hold off on the snow forever.   Hopefully we won’t have a major snowfall until late December this year, just like we had for the last few years.  It makes winter fly by faster.  Halloween is coming and I have to decide who’s going to be what.  I think Chris wants to be an army man, so i’ll buy him some authentic childrens BDU’s.  Andrew is naturally a pirate so that is what he will be for All Hallow’s Eve.   I don’t know where exactly to get his costume yet though.  It’s only a matter of weeks before they start putting the Christmas stuff out…. I think last year they started before they even put the Halloween stuff away!

Well i’ll update again soon.
