Most people that know me at the shop knew by looking at me yesterday I was pretty sick so I kept my distance. I couldn't even come in today. I missed everything on Christmas Day with family because of it, so I was thrilled to see this family and the these little girls that were interested in the coins yesterday. They literally made my year by their reactions to my gifts to them! I hate new shiny penny's and I happened to have a roll laying out so I split some up between the two at first. They were amazed by that. Then I added to each bag some mixed 1800's Indian head cents (not cheap), and their reactions just kept getting better. Next I added a handful of 1,900 year old Roman's to each bag. Pure shock and awe at that moment. The Cou de Gras was when I asked the the girl in the middle if she liked Pokémon… she said she loves them… so on the floor next to me I had a full collection including 1st editions, holographic, reverse holos, and all about 200-400 cards all of some value. I don't have time for all that so I said here's your collection and for 10 minutes straight, she begged to give me hugs, told me thank you a hundred times over, the parents were shocked, it made me so happy. It really ended my year in such an amazing way. I'm a giver, not a taker. In the end I had to reject her hugs and I felt bad because I was so sick and I told her how bout a few fist bumps and she was happy with that. I will never forget that moment in time such as the few others I've posted about! I said to make sure to come back! I love kids so much and try to fuel their desire to collect!
