So last week, in an amazing reversal of self-principles I decided to jump into purchasing a 16" Macbook Pro w/48GB RAM – yeah I went all out. I need it for school, but also for other high intesity projects. Also, against my religion I also switched us all over to iPhone. That was a hard decision, but what won me over was the camera and OLED screen. When I was at Andrew's bootcamp graduation in August, they had us facing the sun in the stands and at max brightness, my Samsung S23 Ultra lacked in the ability to see what I was taking photos of. Someone in front of me had a crystal clear view. That was the selling point for me. Jason and I got the iPhone 16 Pro Max's w/ 1TB storage. My last iPhone was the 4s back in 2011 or 12 just before I bought the first Android, the Google G1. I am overwhelmed. I feel like I've gone from tech expert to tech nobody. I went from freedom to being locked down. I used to be an old time iPhone geek where i'd jailbreak them and and install cydia and what not. That is not something I'm stupid enough to do at this moment. I went with the Macbook Pro because I'm sick of my laptops crashing when I run AI or do my video production or work on a large number of photographs. My gaming laptop had 48GB ram and an NVidia 4060 RTX graphics card with dedicated memory and still could not handle Adobe Premiere/After Effects or AI. I am NOT an Apple person and this is a whole new world that I am not used too. I will give it time of course. It was an investment but thankfully Macbook Pro's tend to retain value a little longer than your average PC. I am loving the liquid retina display though, amazing. My biggest hate is not being able to install apps on external drives or organize things the way I want them to be.
