This is my reason!

This is my family and aside from the whole “I’m doing this for myself” deal, I am doing this for these guys and gals as well!  They are the reason I chose to do this, because I have to be there and active for them!

Last night we took them to the Great Lakes Live Steamers which run in our city every 3rd weekend of the month, and they put on their Halloween run last night.  I waited in line for 1 hour and 15 minutes.  That’s pretty good for being a smidge more than a week post-op from my 2nd surgery.  I guess that means I’m doing well!

So I cheated tonight.. I started pureed foods 15 hours early… if you wanna call that cheating.  I had 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and 1/4 cup of chicken salad, which by the way, no matter how much I processed it, still had a chunk or two.  I just chewed those pieces good.  So far so good, no problems getting stuck.  I hope real solids goes just as well.  My chicken salad was a bag of Sweet Sue chunk chicken breast, 3 tablespoons of light Miracle Whip and a tablespoon of sweet relish.  I pulsed it up until it was paste. It makes at least 2-3 servings of 1/4 cup.   Like I said, there was a couple chunks but nothing unmanageable!  Tomorrow for dinner I will try 1/4 cup of refried beans with monterrey jack cheese, and 1/4 cup of chicken or tuna salad.

I almost feel like this is going TOO easy for me.  I’m prone to problems, just because.  Just like the surgery, I ended up having 2, just because that’s always my luck.  Could it really be this easy?  Could it really be easier than my lapband recovery?  For something supposedly way less invasive, the lapband seems like it was a nightmare to have compared to this.  I’m still having a problem feeling when enough food is enough.  I keep questioning whether or not I actually had my stomach shrunk.  I keep seeing people saying they are full after a tablespoon of food!  A tablespoon?? That’s like 2 bites!  You can’t survive on being full after a tbsp.  I’m good with a 1/2 cup.  This will take getting used too though, my normal portions are like 4 times as much!

Ah well… happy 2 weeks post-op for me!  I can’t believe how well it’s going so far!
