Today is July 28th and two people I know have birthdays today… Beth was born today in 1990 and Marty was born today in 1976 (really… 30 years young!).
I was supposed to take my sister out for her 16th birthday but she fell ill with the mystery virus. She’s been throwing up all day. So now Rachel, Andrew, Chris, Matt & Beth have had it. I have somehow avoided it, although last night I was not feeling good.
So my mom called me this morning and was like, Beth’s sick, she can’t go to the Y. This is usually how it happens when she doesn’t want to go, she either has our mom call me, or she calls me and says, “I’m sick, i’ve been throwing up!”. I hear that a couple times per week sometimes. She’s a type 1 diabetic so some of it is believeable, but other times not. I didn’t believe her this morning. I didn’t believe her until I went over there and she was on the couch in her pajamas:
We also had to put off her birthday cake a day later, if she’s feeling better tomorrow. She got a pirates of the caribbean cake, which looks kinda gay, but I like the idea. They should have transferred a jack sparrow image or something.
So instead of going out to have dessert, Julie and I went out to crafts 2000 in Monroe to see if we could get ideas for her baby shower next week. We are trying to work out which games we are gonna do. I bought like 32 ceramic teddy bears that I will number, and we will draw numbers to see who wins the prize. I haven’t picked out a prize yet, but i’m thinking it will be a yankee candle or something good. I can’t spend too much money on gifts because it’s already going to cost around $400 for the shower at Olive Garden.
Well maybe tomorrow i’ll get my drink. I shouldn’t take any meds in the morning though, I wouldn’t want them to interact with alcohol. No life dependent meds here though, only optional stuff.
I got some new pictures of me… the best was the one I currently have on profile but I look like a b*tch in it, which really i’m not, but for some reason I look like I am.
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my LapBand. It’s been a rough ride but i’m down 75lbs since surgery and 100lbs since my highest in Feb. 05. I still have at least 50 to go, but i’m happy. I work out so eventually it will come off. I can remember back like a year ago tonight how miserable I was in Mexico. It was like 120 degree’s there and you couldn’t even stand outside. We were put up in this hooker motel with the worlds hardest bed. That 70’s show repeated itself like 20 times. Must be all they watch down there. Now anytime I see that program it gives me nightmares about sleeping in that motel room. Not many people see the other side of Mexico, and it wasn’t truly that bad, but it wasn’t some place I want to go again. Maybe next time i’ll go to Cancun or Cozumel! I also had my last real meal and a real authentic mexican restaurant. They put limes on the table for you to eat for some reason. It is not easy to not speak Mexican and be in Mexico. It was very frustrating!
One year ago Matt was stuck eating Mexican hospital food. You thought our hospital food was bad…..
It was a good day all in all today though. Happy birthday to you both!
