So after 2 iron infusions my hemoglobin has risen to 12.5 which means I can't classified today as anemic, which is great and all but if my body isn't absorping iron and holding onto it, it will either gradually go down or dramatically drop again because the rest of my CBCs are still out of whack. I'm concerned today though because my platelet count had a 300 point drop in one week. It went from 430 to 118 and they don't know why. Platelets are made in the bone marrow, and in the past I've had issues and still do with my bone marrow replenishing my red blood cells and whatever else bone marrow does. It's been talked about in the past but never done but I think a bone marrow biopsy would be beneficial.
