It's already June!?

JensNotes | Pura Vida

Where the heck did half the year go already! I can’t believe my little baby girl Ava is just about 8 months old already. Time is flying now that she isn’t cranky and doesn’t hate life anymore. She is a lazy little girl though. She rolls everywhere almost like she doesn’t want to crawl. What I was amazed at though, was out of nowhere she went from being on all 4’s to somehow sitting up yesterday, by the way, which she still does not do very well at. She much prefers to just lay down and roll around. For some reason she has this fascination with wires and cords. Not a good fascination to have. If there is anything plugged in, like a vacuum, fan, whatever, she can find her way to that cord and make sure she wraps herself around it. This one I have to pay attention too way more than the others. Right now I don’t have any cords just randomly laying out, but her swing has a cord that plugs in and she can go roll underneath it and manage to wrap around it somehow.

Oh I feel about twice my age yesterday and today. My bestest friend Julie and I hit up Cedar Point by ourselves on Tuesday. Every time we go I come out feeling twice my age by the next day. The very first ride we went on just to release the energy was the worst one, Top Thrill Dragster. If we can hit up the tallest and fastest and most “suck the life out of you” ride first, none of the others will bother us 🙂 I kind of felt bad all day that I didn’t bring Chris. I told him I would take him before going with anyone else, but every weekend since opening day has been rainy. Now we will wait until school gets out. Chris is tall enough to go on all the rides except for Mantis and the Raptor, which are the standing type rides. He has no idea what he’s in for on Top Thrill Dragster. He thinks he can do it. I hope he doesn’t change his mind after watching it take off. I have a slight dilemma because Andrew is like 47 inches tall, and you need to be 48 for a lot of the rides. I want Andrew to go and ride, but he’s gonna be upset if he’s too short.

So anyhow, the Wicked Twister did a pretty good Wicked Twister on my back. The Maverick gave me a headache and caused my earrings to stab me in the back of my head because they don’t warn you on that one to take them out because your head slams back and forth on the shoulder harness. The 3 rides on the Millennium Force made my head hurt and me nauseated. Despite all that, we had fun! Now I have to go back soon and do it again. The heat was so intense yesterday. I sweated so bad. It got to 94 degrees. And go figure, the following 2 days it was only supposed to be in the 70’s. We always pick the worst day. Thank god the park was relatively quiet and we didn’t have to wait longer than 40 minutes for any ride. Walking is ok, it’s when you have to stand in line for a long time with the hot sun burning your skin that it sucks.

We started boxing things up this past weekend. So far I’ve done the bathroom, my bedroom, my curio cabinet, and the book case. I couldn’t believe I filled up an entire storage bin just from my bathroom alone. I probably don’t need 90% of the stuff. I’m completely overwhelmed still. I threw out a lot of stuff this weekend, about 4 bags worth. I don’t know why I like to keep stuff like I do. Matt has a problem with keeping tons of old, spare computer parts in the cabinets in the basement that will never see the light of day again. I think he can safely get rid of the 3.5″ floppy drives.

I haven’t figured out when exactly we’ll move yet. We probably can’t do the final move until at least the 8th of July. We have to buy furniture and set up bunk beds and stuff like that and we need time to clean and do that too.

Everyone is freaking out on me that we are moving “so far away”. Come on, it’s less than 25 minutes away. I’m more concerned that now my mom has no car, and now guess who is responsible to get her to doctors and chemo treatments? Me. My mom keeps saying “I’m sorry I’m such a burden”. Well, all I can really say to that is, mom, you created your own problems. I will help you the best I can just shy of lending any money. Yes she has cancer, but I am stressed out and on anxiety medication already, I cannot let her problems (financial) hurt me. If I start giving in, she will take advantage of it and never learn. Her and my brother need to learn a lesson, don’t do stupid stuff. My brother needs to get off his duff and get a job and stop freeloading and making my mom pay for everything. I just want everything to work out. I have a feeling it be too long before I’m made to feel guilty about my mom’s cancer, like it’s my fault. If she loses the house to the county for not paying the property taxes, she’ll have nothing. If you could put the word irresponsible to a picture, it would be my mom photo. She makes more than enough even on sick leave to cover all the bills and they never get paid. She has to understand I have 4 kids, bills, car payments and I cannot take care of her. I have no room.

By 9a.m. this morning I had the dishes done and the carpet clean. I am a clean carpet fanatic. I absolutely can’t stand to look at dirty carpet. I’m staring through cloudy windows right now weighing whether or not to clean them. Matt has the sprinklers set to go off at 9a.m. and every morning the windows are wet and it leaves spots. I’m not about to clean windows daily. I need to get out and mow the lawn this evening. I can’t stand a shaggy lawn either. I give up on the weed control. I have done everything in my power to prevent weeds in my garden beds but it’s not working. I don’t want my house to get all overgrown and nasty looking after we leave so I will trim things down and hope it stays ok. My back yard has seen better days. I hope whoever has this house after us can figure out the weed problem, and grow some grass. The trees back there prevent anything from growing. Maybe my neighbors will get lucky and the next people will be able to afford to chop down these trees. They are nothing but a burden and a danger.

I’m almost recovered from Cedar Point. I was severely dehydrated because I had 2 bottles of water all day long and just one meal in 24 hours. My brain feels all sloshy but I keep going in the kitchen to drink a cup of water. I didn’t even have to go to the bathroom all day, until the next morning. I had so much liquid coming out of my face and body there was nothing left for the bathroom! ha ha. Cedar Point charges like $4 for a bottle of water, so for as long as I possibly could throughout the day we kept filling up our bottles in the fountains and hoping they wouldn’t fly away on a coaster. They made me toss my bottle on my 3rd ride of Millennium Force when they seen it. Before then I kept it under my shirt in my pocket. Ah well, that’s business.

Andrew is at the Detroit Zoo today with his class. Chris gets to go tomorrow. It couldn’t be a more perfect day for the zoo. I prefer the Toledo Zoo over Detroit any day, but the Detroit Zoo has a dinosaur exhibit I guess they were going to see.
