What a boring day.

Matt started out the morning getting up at 4:30 this morning so he could go “do his duty to the USA” with the civil air patrol…get this…securing a soccer tournament. OMG, they need to fly him already! He has yet to fly a “mission” with them yet and he’s been a member 2 years. I guess there is not that many search and rescues in our neck of the woods. He came home at about 11:30a.m. and we have just had a boring boring day since then.

I wanted to mow the lawn today, that is my job that is what I do best. He went and got some fuel for the mower and started mowing before I noticed. He was like, “well I was already out here”. I’m very particular about how I want the lines on my lawn to look. I have worked on lawns since I was 10 years old getting paid $2 by my grandpa to do his. What a bargain!! When I move I’m certainly not going to miss my grass or my trees. The grass here has frankly seen much better days despite me doing my best with fertilizing and weed elimination. So now our lawn is mowed, and the winds come in and drop 50 million helicopters all over everything. I hate helicopters. In fact, since living here I have developed a new hatred for tree’s… especially if they are invading our sewer lines.

I’m becoming overwhelmed by the day looking around and deciding what goes, what stays, and what gets thrown out. Like, do we really need to keep that random Happy Meal toy the kids got like 5 years ago? There are certain things I will never part with though that seem stupid to everyone else. I have this balloon that came in my flowers when I had Andrew in 2005. That balloon still has every ounce of air that was put in it and hasn’t leaked ever. It says, “It’s a boy!” on it! I can’t get rid of that, it’s going on 7 years old 🙂 What I really want to do is take all of the kids toys an put them on the front lawn with a sign at my major intersections that say “TOYS: FREE TO GOOD HOME” and whatever doesn’t get taken gets thrown out. I doubt the kids will approve of that approach though!

I keep forgetting it’s Memorial weekend and the kids and Matt have Monday off. It’s not so bad with the kids being home when Matt is home also. We have absolutely no plans this weekend to do anything. We were gonna go to Cedar Point tomorrow, but it’s free military admission weekend so that would be a very bad choice. Standing in lines for hours isn’t fun. But, I get to go on Tuesday and it will be worse. There might not be the crowds but it is supposed to be 87 degrees and sunny. You may as well put me on a spit and roast me over a fire because i’ll feel like bbq pork when we get out of there.

I’m sitting here watching Matt play with his new iPad that GE got him. Lucky him. It’s nice, but it’s just not feasible for a normal person to have. It’s too big to carry in your pocket, it’s kind of odd to hold, and it’s so fragile feeling you’ll worry about breaking it all the time. It’s pretty much an iPod with GPS and 3G but no telephony stuff. It’s a cross between the iPod, iPhone, and tablet PC. It’ll be nice for road trips I suppose!

I went to Meijer tonight. The tab for this weeks grocery shopping was $276.00 for two weeks of stuff, if i’m lucky. I need to cut that back. It doesn’t help that prices are going up on food either. I used to be able to shop for $100 for 2 weeks. I need to get back to extreme couponing. I would be ashamed of myself if I seen this coming back then. I had a big binder with 4 months worth of coupons in it and I used the Grocery Game website and made a steal at the grocery store each week. It doesn’t help that $60 of my groceries are diet soda, dog food and cat food.

Now I have to hold back how much stuff I buy at the store. The more I buy and bring here the more I have to haul to the new house. I have so much stuff to buy, that that’s overwhelming by itself. I need a new furniture set, this is a must, I need a couple good sized area rugs, kids need a new bunkbed, which is also a must along with new mattresses, and a lot of miscellaneous little stuff. I have arranged to trade dining tables with my mom. Her table is much bigger than mine, so it will hold all of my family around it whereas now it doesn’t.

Poor Jack & Moose! They don’t know anything different than our house. They won’t have the neighbor to sit at the fence and wait for, or people at the market behind us to bark at like wolves. I hope they do ok!

Goodnight!
