Trip Planning
Today I sat around and didn’t do much of anything until evening. I really didn’t feel well today. I haven’t been in the mood to do much this week… a really lazy week. You know your life is getting boring when you sit home all day and watch Fox News all day. I actually enjoy watching the news!
I have been planning our trip overseas this week though, figuring out in advance what we need to accomplish and what not to do. Usually when we get there we just go with the flow and do whatever… which is usually a lot. Well this time i’m not repeating anything i’ve done in the past… with one exception. We will take Chris & Andrew to London. My goal is to see some new things. I’d like to go to Bath where they have the roman bath houses. I’d also like to get out to some of the castles we haven’t been too. I seen Canaerfon Castle in Wales from the outside but i’d like to go in. Someday i’ll get to the Scottish highlands, but not this trip. It’s probably a good 12 hour drive to the highlands. The scenery is spectacular though. I’d take Chris to see Robin Hood’s hometown (and my grandma’s hometown) but for some reason Robin Hood isn’t such a big deal over there. Sherwood Forest (or what’s left of it) is basically a big open field with a few trees. They claim there is a grave somewhere in Nottingham but we couldn’t find it. Nobody even knows if Robin Hood was a real character even. Ah well… I’m very excited to go this time because Chris will actually remember this trip and love to see castles and churches. I have promised him that we will go into some crypts.
I have an exercise ball now (balance ball) and i’ve been using it primarily for crunches. It works very well. It saves the tailbone from pain. Since i’ve lost all this weight my tailbone has no padding on it anymore so when I sit on hard surfaces it starts to hurt really bad. I haven’t been doing crunches because of that, but now I can.
Matt actually updated his profile after like 9 months. He’s just not into myspace like everyone else is. He figures until it becomes popular in the U.K. like it is here, then there’s no purpose. His schools are listed but only about 5 people he went to school with are on there. I wish he could be in contact with some of the old friends he’s looking for.
I love my kitties and dog so much. I can’t help but say that. I’ve heard some horrible stories this week about poor animals and the horrible end to their lives. I don’t want to repeat them because I want to forget what i’ve seen and heard this week. On the way home from a restaurant there was a poor kitty that had met an unfortunate end with a vehicle on Outer Drive in Melvindale. I hope it died instantly is all I can say – it was not in good condition. All I could picture was my own kitties meeting the same fate, but of course that would never happen. I love animals so much, so much so that I can’t watch Animal Planet. The only time I put on Animal Planet was for the Steve Irwin specials when he died.
Did I mention I have this horrible fear of flying? I think about how excited I am about this trip, but I fear getting on that plane. I am ok with the flight there, I think. It’s only 7+ hours…. it’s the flight back that is over 8 hours in length. Hopefully we’ll have a good tailwind and get there in 5 hours and not longer than 6 returning. I am going to devise a cocktail to knock me out. That, or i’m going to kindly ask my doctor for something to relax me. My heart races everytime the plane jolts a little. I can’t sleep either. I’m going to order a pair of noise cancelling headphones so that I can’t hear the plane, and hopefully I can knock myself out. Going the flight leaves at almost midnight so hopefully the kids will sleep soundly so I can get knocked out.
Well i’m off to bed… oh, and to all I have not seen or talked to recently, happy St. Patrick’s day!
