More Sickness

Ok well I finally broke down and went to the hospital only to come out high and with no answers whatsoever.  I layed down for a nap earlier and woke up in some more pain, so I said after dinner we would go.  Well I headed out to the hospital around 5:30 or so.  I was seen pretty quickly.  Everybody was so interested in the LapBand… like nobody has ever heard of it.  The only thing people have heard of is gastric bypass.  So I ended up telling my story like 20 times while I was there, along with why I hurt for like 10 times.  It’s amazing… i’d tell the triage lady, then my nurse would come in and I had to tell her, then a physician’s assistant came in and I was like, “What about all the stuff I just said, and was written down”… I guess I sounded kinda snooty but I couldn’t help it. She was like “well we have to ask again”… so I told her, and then in walks a doctor and I had to tell him.  Then I went for an x-ray and she wanted to know as well…. oh and the ultrasound lady wanted to know about everything too.

So anyway, they never did get an image of my stomach to tell me if I was slipped or anything.  They wanted me to stay over night for observation, but I declined and said that I wanted pain meds and go home and to follow up with my doctor.  What I do have is large gall stones so I will need my gall bladder removed at some point.  That does not sound fun, but I guess I should get it taken care of.  It’s funny though because they know that wasn’t what was wrong with me, they just used that as my discharge reason.  If i’m not better tomorrow or the next day i’m going back.

While I was there they injected me about 4 times with narcotics.  One was Morphine, and the other 3 was dilloted.  I was out for the count in less than a minute so I just let time fly.  Oakwood has by far the best E.R.  around here, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

I feel ok at the moment, but that’s probably because i’ve had so many pain meds i’m typing with my eyes closed and i’m practically numb.  I won’t tell what’s different until tomorrow.  I hope to god it gets better.

I want to go to the mom2mom resale at the Y in the morning, but I think i’m too doped up.  They gave me 20 extra strength vicodin’s, which I will cut in half to make 40.  They also gave me compazine, which is for nausea.

Ah well…. anyhow I talked to Julie tonight and baby Joseph has graduated to a plastic box, aka crib.  He’s doing so amazing!!!  I can’t wait til he comes home and is bigger so we can all enjoy him.
