Into November we go!

Well the last couple weeks have been a good couple weeks.  I’ve gotten a lot accomplished I think.  I didn’t do much for my birthday, it was a pretty boring one to say the least.  I told everyone to mark their calendars for my 30th birthday (3 years from now) and we’ll make sure to do something.  All of my major birthday milestones were ruined by someting.  My 21st birthday I was expecting Chris, and I can’t remember what happened to the other ones, but being I can’t remember, obviously nothing exciting happened!

I’ve had several Children’s hospital appointments to attend to in the last two weeks for Chris. He’s doing better in school, but there is another underlying cause for what is going on and they are working on figuring it out.  At least right now I feel as if we have a “team” working on him between the school and the hospital.  They changed his medication the other day so hopefully we’ll see a change.  He seems a lot more relaxed now.

Last night Matt had a phone call to Singapore where he spent 5 hours dealing with another Citibank problem.  I was listening in on this one, and whoever was on the other end of the phone has some children that were insane.  All you could hear among the foreign language was screaming kids. We thought it was funny because if it hadn’t have been for the late hours of this call, they’d probably hear the same thing coming from our end.  They also started to fight in a foreign language about 10 minutes into the phone call.  I wanted to record it but my camera’s battery is dead.  If they were near each other in person I have a feeling there would be one of those brawls you see on t.v. in foreign countries!  Matt just sits back and laughs about it while he occasionally throws in his input.

Chris has two adult teeth coming in the front of his mouth and he is only 5 1/2 years old.  I think it’s nuts.  I didn’t expect to have to deal with this for another year or two.  One fell out a few months ago, and that adult tooth is fully in now, and two other front teeth have been loose. The adult tooth is coming in behind the two front teeth.  One fell out in the doctors office the other day and the other one is ready to come out very soon.  He’s very emotional over it though. Well, in the docs office the other day he did something that disturbed me a smidge…. he was like, “ooooh blood, it tastes good, i’m a vampire”.  I just thought to myself, “oh my”.

Vegas is coming in 17 short days.  I know we are gonna lose all our money, but I certainly can’t go there with the expectations that I will win anything.  Anytime I do, we lose it all!!  Hmm… sweepstakes wise in the last month I have collected a few more prizes.  I woke up to an early FedEx envelope the other day containing a win for 6 pairs of wrangler jeans of my choice.  Those will come in handy.  I’ll get Matt, Chris and I each 2 pairs.  I also got an American Idol dvd game, and a few other things.  I’m hoping November is better for wins. I average about 4 wins per month, usually one of them being pretty good.

My family had dinner with my brother, Rachel, and yes, my dad yesterday. It was very awkward to say the least.  I guess he is mostly back to normal accept if you ask a question that requires too much of an answer, he usually can’t finish what he’s saying.  He is a lot better than he was, that’s for sure.  I was happy that he didn’t smell like alcohol for once.  Maybe he will change.  I was very nervous about taking my two boys and having Rachel there with him because he is very short tempered, and usually can’t tolerate kids being crazy.  Andrew was being bad, and had one bratty moment where he decided he was going to smack his face into the plate and he broke his left front tooth.  They will have to pull it because it’s the tooth he had all the work done and they have warned me if anything happened again that they would have to pull it.  So he’ll have like one missing tooth in all his first school pics!  It was destined to be that way though from the beginning.

Halloween was ok.  I didn’t dress up at all, I just didn’t feel like it.  Chris was a general “dead guy” I guess with a grim reaper coat on or something.  Andrew was a typical devil, and it so much fits his personality!  Matt of course was dressed to the gills as some dead mad scientist wearing his pfizer lab coat.  This year was my best makeup job on him. We got enough candy this year but the selection that we did get wasn’t very diverse for some reason.  It’s like everyone on my grandma’s block hit up the same sale at Wal-Mart and got the same candy.  All fun size snickers, dum dums, 3 musketeers, etc.

It’s a boring day today, not sure what to do.  I wanna shop, but then again I don’t.  Sometimes I like it sometimes I can’t stand to do it.  I have laundry to do, so maybe i’ll do that.
