Sick of hospitals!
Grrr. I have had it with hospitals already. I have now been into the hospital 4 times for 3 different people in the last 7 days. What the heck is in the water around here?! We started off the first visit with Chris going to the hospital with a head injury. Then a couple days later we took him back to the hospital because he stabbed himself in the eyeball with a toy gun. That same night Julie went into the hospital for contractions. Today as she comes out we take Andrew in because he’s got what appeared to be a horribly bloody diaper. We spent the last 5 hours in the hospital thinking that Andrew has a bleed inside or something. He was at my grandma’s when we witnessed this blood like liquid run down his legs. It looked exactly like blood. Well he was feeling fine and everything, so it was a mystery. The only thing puzzling us is why did it stain his leg. Earlier in the day I had given him some red raspberry crystal light — but it was pretty potent because I had used an “on-the-go” packet in his sippy cup. Well it’s not exactly the amount of liquid that one of those packets requires, so it was potent. However, we came to realize that it was this that had not reacted well with him and came out the other end looking like dark red blood. They couldn’t explain how this happened, but it was very weird, and very scary for a moment anyway.
Andrew was so cute though. They wheeled him around in a stretcher and all we kept hearing was, “such a little man on a big stretcher”, and how cute he was sitting there. He was a monster there though. As soon as the hospital realized we weren’t important anymore they moved him to the hallway, where he wanted to run around like a mad man.
So anyway, thankfully at this point, at least for tonight everyone is home from the hospital. We just need to keep Julie out of the hospital for a few more weeks. She’s supposed to be on full bed rest, but I can only imagine we’ll see how far she gets with that. It must be hard. I know I couldn’t do it with kids at home anyway.
I don’t want to see another hospital for at least a month. I have visited the hospital more times in the last week than I have in years…aside from when Andrew was born.
I’m sitting down now and relaxing. All I have to worry about now is what else to get for Julie. She needs so many things that she would have received at her shower but didn’t….and we don’t know if she ever will receive those things.
Could it very well be that all this happened because there was a pretty constant full moon this week?! Who knows!
Ok well……….ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzz
