Our 5th Wedding Anniversary

Well today is May 5th, 2005. It is also our 5th anniversary. It’s been a strange day too. The morning started out with a report of a homemade grenade being blown up at the British Consulate in New York City. I guess that can’t compare to the fact that five years ago the world was supposed to end because the planets were aligning in the sky!! We had our anniversary dinner last night at the usual place, Morels! Dinner was quite good, along with the $116.00 tab. It is always worth it though.

It’s hard to believe that my baby is already 2 1/2 months old. He’s growing so big now and I enjoy watching him learn new things all the time. I woke up this morning to a screech — his new form of laughter I suppose. I really liked secretly watching him smile and do other things that for some reason he does not do in front of his mummy. Health wise, he’s fairly good. We still can’t get rid of the stuffy nose syndrome. It’s mysterious, but everyday I’m leaning more towards a possibly allergy. We’re getting more food down him now, which is definitely a good thing. He hasn’t slept through the night yet, but were are getting close. We put tons of rice cereal in his night time bottle and that usually helps him stay asleep longer. His next doctor’s appointment is May 19th, and Im eager to see what he weighs.

As for Christopher we are working on the potty training deal. Boy oh boy it’s tough with him. As a baby and as a toddler he could have cared less whether or not he had a huge poopy diaper on him, and that makes training all the more difficult. Our super nice neighbors brought us over a brand new box of Huggies Easy-Ups (pull-ups essentially). Their grandson outgrew them, but they are perfect for Chris. I think he’ll think they are too much like diapers though and piddle in them. Yesterday we had a good morning with him in his SpongeBob underwear, then all of a sudden while Im feeding Andrew I hear “Bathroom, Bathroom”… I was like, “Come here Chris let me pull down your pants”. Defiantly he told me no, and proceeded to pee on the bathroom floor. Argh… Today was much better though, he actually went potty once.

I had the boys’ pictures done at Wal-Mart the other day and I will NEVER go there again for photos. These people there are very unprofessional; they rush you, don’t use props, and are really expensive!! The lady that took the pictures could care less if the baby was crying in them. Their gimmick package (37 photos for $6.xx) gets you in the door, but the package only applies to the first shot they take, and both happened to be frowning in it. That sucked. So I end up with a crud load of photos that ended up costing $60! They were crappy photos too. I only put $10 down, and I guess I will lose $10 because Im not taking those photos. Instead, today I went to JC Penney at Southland Mall and got the best photographer in the world. I got beautiful pictures of my boys that were worth every penny. I had a coupon for $4.99 per sheet with 2 free 8×10’s and no sitting fee’s. I spent $38 and that included a discount of $4 for letting them use one of Christopher’s adorable photos in their book. I am very satisfied with their service and will continue using them as I always have before.

The other day Dr. Raper prescribed me Meridia. Of course, our insurance company refuses to pay for it. They won’t let you have surgery until you’ve been on a 6 month diet, but they won’t help you get that far either. The requirements for them to cover the stinking pill is to be on a 6 month diet. So gee, pill or surgery? That will be the question in 6 months time. I’m paying out of pocket for this first month to see if the pill actually helps me. I think it is already. I’ve been on it 2 days I feel different. There are 2 benefits to this pill, ..1: It acts as an anti-depressant and ..2: makes you eat less and no feel hungry. I need both of those benefits and I really think it’s going to help. I’m doing well on my diet and I will update in a couple weeks with my progress.
