Matt is home for a day…

I handled week number one ok without a husband at my side.  It’s the first time in 6 years that he has been away without me.  This week he spent it in sunny, warm, San Francisco, CA.   He came back this morning to a brutal 3 degrees! It was 70 where he was.  It is so freaking cold that my hands hurt after just being out for a few minutes.  I went to Great Lakes Crossing today and the walk from the parking lot in was horrible.  The wind child was in the negative teens.  Anyway, we ate at the Rainforest Cafe as we usually do, and Chris played at Jeepers, which he enjoys very much.  I went around and did some shopping.  I damaged the pocket book while shopping at the Tommy Hilfiger store.  I bought a new pair of pants and a shirt for me, plus a couple outfits for my kids and Julie’s baby.

After that I went with my mom and sister to Ikea and bought a new dresser for Chris since his fell apart.  Back in the day when we were starting out and Chris was just born we got cheap and bought this P.O.S. dresser at Kmart for like 40 bucks.  It lasted 4 years.  It might have lasted longer had we had not placed a t.v. and a dvd player on top of it.  This was is a lot better quality but still affordable.  My mom got a dresser too.  I like going to Ikea, it gives me ideas for the home all the time.  Some of the stuff is great quality but you have to watch out because some of it is junk too.

Leaving the store was horrendous.  We had two really heavy boxes and our limbs were frozen as we couldn’t find the van where I parked.  I hit the panic button but those do no good on our Town & Country… you have to be like 5 feet from it.  Finally we found it and after we loaded the heavy boxes my hands were in so much pain.

Tomorrow Matt takes off for Boston for another week. Then he gets to come home for another day and leave for Boston again for another week.  This really sucks.  Thankfully his flight tomorrow doesn’t leave until 7p.m. so he’ll have some time to be at home.
