Last few days of vacation!
Well gosh where do I start again…. Let see, we have 4 good days left of our trip and it has been a relatively great trip, aside from a few behavioral issues from the boys. We have done sooooooo much and they have absorbed so much fun and excitement that we are all plain worn out!
In the last few days we’ve been to several cathedral’s, several graveyards, and various sights. I can’t remember where I left off at on my last blog, so I’ll try to think as best as I can without having to go read my other one.
Yesterday we went to the University of Machester’s museum, which by itself was soooooo awesome and interesting! We all got to see several great examples of Egyptian mummies and dinosaur bones. The kids loved it so much. They had the t-rex which was kinda like the one in “Night at the Museum”, so Chris had his picture by it. They had all almost every animal and bug imaginable on display (dead of course) and they even had a live exhibit. The live snakes were eating cute little white mice and I had to turn away, but Matt decided to stay and film it. I won’t be watching that part of my film!
Today we drove to the West Midland Safari park which was soooo awesome too. You drive your vehicle around an African reserve and the animals just walk up to your vehicle and stick their heads in. Chris was drooled on by an giraffe! I told him not many people in life get to touch a giraffe, let alone feed it and get drooled on! This one we seen had it’s tongue sticking out and slobbered all over the car and Chris. At one point we were surrounded by antelope with their heads in the car windows. They had lions and tigers as well but you had to keep your windows up for that portion (I wonder why!). I loved the elephants and the wallaby’s! The safari park also had a theme park to it, so we spent the day letting the kids ride the rides there. They had a big section devoted to young children, so they had lots of fun! We went into a reptile house where they had alligators and snakes up close and personal too! You can view all of these pics on my google album. I had to create a “England 2007 (cont’d)” album becuase I have like 600 pictures now, and you can only have 500 in an album. I take lots of pics!
We also went to the Powick Cathedral in Powick, UK, which is just outside of Malvern and the Great Malvern mountain. I have been there before. I mainly go for the graveyard. The last time I went there they had cleaned up the graveyard so you could see all the stones, but now it’s a conservation area and they’ve let it grow out really bad now. In one point, there was a tree that had grown over a grave, which was really cool. I also found another grave where they had to cut down a 5 ft wide tree trunk to expose the grave. Someone had planted a tree over it! That one was dated in the early 1800’s. I have pictures of all this stuff.
Tonight we just got back from eating an Indian meal. It was ok, but Matt ordered himself a dish that was too hot for him and it was funny. The kids really tried to behave but near the end it was becoming impossible!
