June 2006
Ok I hate my hair. I cut it short — really short like 6 months ago, and I wish I had my long hair back. Well, i’m not keeping it short anymore. I’ve had to like cut it 6 times in the last 6 months! My hair grows fast. I’m lazy with my hair so I don’t like maintaining it that much. I like to be able to throw my hair back. Plus i’ve been called a guy one too many times now!!
Something purely amazing happened this morning… something that never ever happens in my life. I slept in!!!
I didn’t get out of bed until 10:00a.m. which is like the first time since like 2001. It felt good but I kinda woke up sleepy and had a headache.
What’s on the agenda today…. well first of all I have to enter my sweeps. It’s kinda my hobby for the last few months. I am a paid member of an the Online-Sweepstakes.com community and I probably take one hour of time either before the boys wake up or after they go to bed to enter about 250 sweepstakes per day. So far i’ve netted over $600 in prizes just in 3 months, so I consider myself lucky. I just won a 2nd prize from American Greetings of a spa certificate… which I could never picture myself taking advantage of. My very first prize winning was an ipod shuffle, which is about 2 months old and sitting on top of my desk in a pile of papers unopened. I already have a nifty ipod that is my baby. I’ve won tons of stuff from Kodak and lots of either weird stuff.
Then I have to buy Chris his birthday presents today. He wants a new bike for his b-day so i’ll have to go looking around. I usually order his birthday cake from CPJ Bakery, and spend like $50 on a cake…. but maybe this year he’s old enough to just get a Farmer Jack cake… which is pretty good too. I don’t see the need for a 4 year old to have a heavily decorated cake. But then again I give my kids what my parents didn’t give me, so I might change my mind. However in no way do I spoil them. I do splurge on special times of the day.
I might also go to Bed Bath and Beyond to use my 20% off coupon. That is my favorite store.
I’m such a queen of getting free food at restaurants it’s unbelievable. Last night we went to a newer steakhouse in Allen Park “on the hill” as we call it. It was the Long Horn restaurant. Needless to say they never prepare my meat the right way. If I do have steak it has to be a small filet mignon. So I have to order the most expensive meal on the menu. I like the “filet and crab bake” it’s a small but expensive dish. Of course they bring me a piece of meat that is overcooked. I physically can’t eat an overcooked piece of meat, only medium rare. So they take it back, and not only do they replace it, they take it off the bill and they offer us one of their mega gigantic desserts for free as well. Of all restaurants they treat their patrons the best. This is the 3rd time they’ve done this for us. Even after they took my $23 bill off the menu, and replaced it, I only had about 3 bites before I couldn’t eat any more. I felt guilty!
I do complain about my food a lot though because it is hard for me to eat anything, and I hate wasting, so if it isn’t perfect I don’t want it… especially for the price of food these days. An average trip to Applebee’s costs us about $50.
