Well it was actually two days ago, but it was bad. I feel so aweful though. We had gone grocery shopping at Meijers and I always put Chris in the back of the cart and put the baby in the front. Chris is the type of child that it takes 10 times repeating something before he does it. Well I had just told him to sit down about 10 times and finally he did. Well we start walking down the dairy aisle and he wants one of those yougurt smoothie things. He stands up before I even get there and reaches over as far as he could and fell head first to the ground. It was the most horrifying thing to see and hear. All I seen was him fall over head first and then heard that horrible watermelon like thud when he hit the ground. He layed there looking so mangled – surely I thought he had broke something. His arms were backwards and his head was turned sideways. At that moment in time when he fell I yelled out so loud, “oh my god” and everybody just stood around and stared. Thankfully there was this nice man that came over and helped me pick him up. All I could do was hold him and hug him. He did start to cry pretty immediately after I made a fuss. I was so scared though, and I walked out of the store crying because I had images in my head of him breaking his neck or him having some major injury. We took him straight to the hospital to be checked out. We were there only an hour and a half because they said he checked out ok and showed no signs of head trauma thankfully. I don’t know how he didn’t have any injuries. He does have some bruising on his face, ear and side of his head though. Needless to say I couldn’t sleep that night, with images of things going through my head and wondering if the hospital missed something. I kept thinking what if something happens at night. Thankfully all is well now. Next time if Chris stands up in the cart, he will be punished… but I think he may have learned his lesson this time. The reason why we keep him in the cart in the first place is he likes to run off if he’s on foot.
Well that was my Monday night. Tuesday was pretty uneventful – I didn’t go workout because the thought of walking from the parking lot to the Y was unbearable due to the extreme heat we are having. Not too sure about today either, another scorcher of a day.
Last night I ordered myself a laptop from Dell. Nothing too impressive, just a basic one. It has 1 gig of ram, 60gb hard drive, 8x cd/DL dvd burner, internal wireless network. Just your basic stuff. When i’m on my desktop I feel like I can’t watch my kids enough, so instead of going into a seperate room I just flip on the laptop and take care of business in the livingroom or whatever room they are in. I think I must set a record for the number of computers in a household. Right now we have 2 laptops… one is Matt’s and one is Matt’s work laptop, which is ultra pentagon secure, 3 desktop’s and some POS old IBM. That doesn’t include the laptop on loan to my brother or the computer I gave to my sister. So we’ll just add another laptop to those figures!
Julie’s baby shower is this weekend and I have yet to buy a gift. One would usually think that the $400 baby shower is enough, but it’s not. I can’t just not buy her a gift too. I’ve also got to buy a present for the games. I’ll probably go to fairlane on Saturday or something to shop.
I think she’s getting ready to turn 31 weeks, which means there’s not much time left. Every symptom she tells me, I just say, “yep, been there done that”. I’m so experienced at horrible pregnancy related symptoms that I know what i’m talking about. The only thing I never had was morning sickness… thank god. She’s got the horrible heartburn, and she couldn’t quite find a fix for that, but since Matt works for Pfizer he went to the company store and got her a couple boxes of Zantac 150 for $8.00. That would normally run about $20. He gets like a 50iscount on every Pfizer over-the-counter product. I gave it to her for free of course. The Zantac seem to help make things a bit better.
I had a bout with sickness the other day, but I don’t think it was virus related. I got some food stuck and I had to bring it up, well in doing that it initiated a wretching vomiting — the kind normal people experience when sick. I’m not supposed to have that happen, it can hurt the band placement and cause problems. I started to freak when I tasted that acid in my mouth. My midsection hurt a bit after that but all is well today. I need to invest in some phenergran anti-nausea meds.
Ah well….that’s been my week so far. Only two more days until the weekend is coming.
