Biking Mackinac Island

So the day before our Labor Day bridge walk, we biked 10 miles around the perimeter and probably another 2-3 miles within the center of the island near the cemetary and other small points of interest.  It was a very peaceful relaxing bike ride, except for the part where we had to haul all of our bikes up the steep incline behind Fort Mackinac, that was dreadful, but everything else was great.  We had lunch at the Yankee Rebel Tavern which is one of my favorites on Mackinac Island.  It took all day to do this but it was fun.  We had never really left the downtown area before, and once went on a small carriage tour, but none of those match what you can do when you get out and bike yourself around the island!
