Ava got her ears pierced!

Let the controversy begin!  Just kidding, but anyway she looks gorgeous now!  We took her to Claire’s at the mall and waited about 10 minutes until the lady was available to pierce Ava’s ears.  At first I had Matt hold her, but then realized I wanted to hold her while it was done so we changed positions.  I thought it would be a bad experience, because Ava really is just a cranky little thing.  I figured her recovery would take hours and not seconds like it really did.

Anyhow, I chose the “pink tourmaline” earrings, which are really just pink crystal with white gold studs which stood for her October birthday.  The lady placed a dot on each ear and before she really had time to start crying it was over with.  She cried a few seconds, nothing more than a typical vaccination, and if anything, less than a vax!

When they are this little it is so much easier to maintain and clean the earrings.  Babies don’t mess with them like little kids do, and she won’t lose them because they lock in place.  I plan on keeping them in her ears until she’s at least 4 years old.  Caitlyn had hers done at about the same age and doesn’t even know what life is like without earrings in her ears.
