Andrew is 2 weeks old!

Andrew is a full two weeks old today! It’s a shame I haven’t been able to experience the first weeks of his life. He’s in a better place for right now anyhow. Two days ago we thought he was doing so well, and even the nurses prepared us for his discharge. Yesterday I called the hospital hoping he was ready to go home, only to find out he was back on more oxygen than he was before. It was very disappointing and very depressing. I think I sat here and cried for 10 minutes. The thing that made me most angry was that those nurses didn’t even care to call me to inform me of the setback. I woke up yesterday ready for him to come home, and if I hadn’t of called to find out what was going on, I would have went up there and got a real shock.I did speak to the nurse practitioner about the situation and she told me it wouldn’t happen again. She did also tell me that reflux could be his issue. When he’s laying flat is when he has “desets” in his oxygen levels, and we noticed that when we held him upright that wasn’t happening.
Today he is off his oxygen again, and not having any problems, but I will wait to see how things are when we go up this evening. I’ve learned not to expect anything, as these things are a day-to-day situation.
As for me, Im battling a horrendous double ear infection. It feels like someone stabbing a knife in and out of my ear repeatedly. I have anti-biotics and now that Im on day ..4, I think it might be starting to get better. I hope so!
