Well it’s St. Patrick’s Day and I imagine it won’t be long before the drunks are out roaming the roads! We didn’t do much at all today. I attempted a corned beef for Matt, and he really liked it, but I couldn’t stomach the look or smell of it. First of all, I like it, but it has to be cold and sliced thin for sandwiches. When it is hot it looks, smells and tastes like dog food. I buy my dog the good food so for whatever reason it really does smell like it. Matt loved it though, and so did my mom.
I haven’t eaten anything yet today and it’s almost bed time. Not much new is going on lately. Both my grandma’s are in the hospital, so that’s not good. My grandma here is in getting rehabilitation for her legs so she can start walking again. Hopefully she’ll be home soon. My other grandma in New Mexico had a mild heart attack and it’s gone downhill from there. Hopefully she gets better and recovers, but I don’t know. Not going good in the health department.
It’s coming up spring time and that makes my mood a little happier. I always get the “winter blues”. This winter has been especially bad weather-wise, so I’ll be glad to see some nice weather come. We’ve already been out in the back yard cleaning up for the spring. I’m already ready to go back to Florida, I didn’t want to leave. We are going to Las Vegas for our anniversary in May, but not til like 2 weeks after our anniversary. We’re gonna stay at the Treasure Island again. It was nice and quiet before. Hopefully this summer we’ll get back to England. We are trying to plan for August, but it depends on how much vacation time is less. I won’t go if we have to go less than two weeks because the sheer expense of the trip would make it not worth it. The exchange rate is deplorable and that alone is a killer. The problem is, you go to a store and you see a nice t-shirt for 15 pounds… which if you thought 15 dollars, that would be reasonable. Well, no, you have to multiply that times two to get $30 for a t-shirt. And this wouldn’t be anything special of a t-shirt. 50 pence for a candy bar = $1.00… and so forth. $7 for a gallon of gas is ridiculous too. I keep telling Matt we need to go to Egypt… as Chris would be very interested in it, and it’s an educational type of trip. We could go on a European road trip… but Matt was like “been there, done that, not doing it again”… for whatever reason.
My dad took off to New Mexico the other day. I have no idea if he is ever coming back. He made it seem to my brother that he was going to be down there for a long time. I doubt they will pay his rent here and keep him down there. He is going to be there to take care of my grandpa while my grandma is ill, but I don’t know how well that will work out. I missed his phone call at 4:00 in the morning the other day because I don’t have a phone near my bed… I guess he wanted a ride to the airport.
Aside from that, not much else is going on. I enrolled Andrew in pre-school for next year… here’s hoping he’s potty trained. He is the most stubborn thing I’ve ever seen, and mouthy! 🙂 His TOTES program is almost over, and I think that is a good thing. It’s time to move on to greener pastures.
