8 weeks old!

Well my big boy will be 8 weeks old on Tuesday. Time sure is flying by fast! I love him soooo much already. Anyhow, Andrew has a bit of a cold… well really just a really stuffy nose! He’s miserable though. It’s hard to feed him when he can’t breathe through his nose too. I took him to see the nurse practitioner yesterday and she said he’s ok, with the exception of the stuffed nose. He has no infections, no cough, and no fever… so that’s great. I just wish it would hurry up and pass. He also weighed 10lbs 14oz approximately too. I say approx. because he had a sleeper and a diaper on, so we’ll go with 10lbs 10oz officially. That means that he’s gained almost 2lbs since March 25th. At his 3/25 doctor’s visit he was 9lbs 1oz, so he’s doing well.
Well I get to go see Dr. Raper on May 2. I’m going to see if he will put me on a doctor supervised diet for at least 6 months. If this doesn’t work Im going to proceed with applying for bariatric surgery. A drastic move, yes, but my health is worth it in the end I think. I’m really going to try to lose weight the really super hard way first… naturally. I would rather not want to have my stomach so small that at no time in my life would I be not able to enjoy a nice meal. My problem is I don’t eat to live, I live to eat…. I love food, so this will be hard either way.
However, starting tomorrow Matt and I are going to have some serious lifestyle changes. His cholesterol is way out of control, and our eating out habits have got to come to a stop. We eat ourselves broke each month.
Christopher has magically started talking out of nowhere… it’s weird. Now he will repeat something with the snap of a finger. The only words we can’t get him to say are his name, and “YES”. Yes does not exist in his vocabulary yet oddly enough. I wish we could get him potty trained. I really want him to go to school this fall, and it would be GREAT if I could figure out how to do this.
