Matt's Birthday!
This weekend has probably been one of the best weekends Ive had in a very long time. Friday, we decided to have our birthday dinners at one of our favorite restaurants. We ate at Morels, which is located in Bingham Farms, MI. It features food made from mostly Michigan. It was worth every penny of the $111.00 it cost the two of us :o) We started out with a “mushroom treasure chest” which was various wild mushrooms in a cognac leek cream sauce. That was sooooo good. Next we each had soups. I had the morel bisque, which was quite powerful in flavor, and Matt had the tomato basil, which tasted like spaghetti sauce! We then had our entrees, and mine was beef tenderloin with whipped potatoes in a port wine veal sauce. Matt had chicken medallions. For dessert I had a mocha torte, which was awesome, and Matt had a peach parfait thingy. It was so good; I can’t wait to go back…. whenever that is!
Yesterday we went to Casino Windsor, and lost $40 American, and another $40 to a restaurant with a cruddy waitress! Today we celebrated Matt’s birthday. First we went out to breakfast at Old Country Buffet, and got loaded with food there. We came home for a couple hours and went to Apple Charlie’s cider mill. After that, we went to TGI Friday for Matt’s birthday dinner. That was great, at least the first half of it. Our waitress got really slow after a party of 12 came in next to us. They embarrassed Matt good with clapping and doing their “happy birthday” rendition. He got a free sundae out of the deal though!
Yes, we have spent a ton of money this weekend!!!
I’m into my 16th week now, and time seems to be flying along. I have another doctor appointment this week on Thursday, and Im hoping (Im sure he will) give me a prescription for my level II ultrasound, where we’ll find out the gender. If he doesn’t that means, Id be like 24 weeks before it got done, and he wouldn’t do that.
