So, Matt is off in Mississauga, Ontario this week. He’s doing IT security work with CIBC. His company was generous and made him drive there. Why the hell couldn’t they find someone in their New York office to take care of this? It only took him 5 hours to get there after sitting in customs for 2 hours waiting on a visa he didn’t need. All he needed was a company work order. I thought it was kind of odd that he would need a visa for a week long project. It sucks for me though because depending on when he graces us with his presence this week, likely late at night I will have to drag all the kids out of bed or keep them up to drive 5 miles to pick him up from the local Hertz rental peoples.
My kids decided to pop on me today that they have parent teacher conferences on Thursday. Chris is already preparing me by telling me he doesn’t want me to go. I wonder how well that conference will be. I can’t make it on this short of notice, not a chance will all 4 kids. If Ava were another year older it might be possible, but though she is a hell of a lot better than she was for this time last year climbing all over tables and causing trouble, she still is just like her older brother Andrew and wants to get into mischief while I’m talking and won’t sit in a stroller. Next year will be better.
I’m going to attempt to get my kids into Jefferson public schools this next school year. Summit Academy was only a temporary solution to get them out of Monroe Public schools. They have had a real hard time adapting to waking up at 5:55 a.m. every single morning and following that with a 1 hour 45 minute bus ride to school. Just a few weeks ago we got a call that Andrew actually got left on a bus and they found him and returned him to school because they all take naps when they get on the bus. Chris hadn’t been in school that day because he was sick, but normally he would wake Andrew up. On top of that, Chris and Andrew do not fall asleep until 11p.m. or later. They go to bed at 9, but Andrew’s imagination keeps him and his brother up a little while longer. Somehow they are both doing pretty good in school despite the agonizingly little amount of sleep they get each night. But, this isn’t something I’m willing to do long-term. Plus, with Matt out of town a lot, it sucks huge ASS to get all 4 kids up at 6a.m. just to drive a mile and a half for 10 minutes every morning when Matt’s not here.
Well I will write more when I’m done tending to kids….
