woke up this morning at around 9a.m… and I decided to sit here and read my email for a little bit, and enter some contests. Before I knew it, it was 10a.m. and I was wondering why Andrew hadn’t awakened yet. I told Chris to go open his door. That usually wakes him up. So I let him go another half hour until 10:30a.m. I went in there and he was just laying there, he looked so bad. He was burning up with a fever at almost 103 degree’s, shaky, deep breathing, etc. I’m like what the heck, he was 100% fine last night. I gave him Tylenol to see if his fever would go down. Well by 11:30 his fever hadn’t subsided and all he wanted to do was lay against me and cuddle. He was sooo hot. So I had Matt come upstairs (from work) and I took Andrew to the hospital. When I carried him in he was like a rag doll. He was all limp and pale looking. The admitting nurse picked him up and she’s like, “oh poor baby you are way too hot”. They took his temp and it was right at 103. So the first thing they did was give him some Motrin. I had my doubts that it would work because the Tylenol didn’t. They get us back in the pediatric area and we waited like a half hour for a doc to come in, even though we were the only ones and it just opened. The doctor came in and had a good look over him and determed that somehow magically overnight he developed a really severe case of tonsilitis. At that point I felt so bad because I know firsthand what it feels like to go through that and could only imagine how miserable he was. If it was anything like what I get, you have it and it doesn’t bother you for a few days and then you get horribly ill all of a sudden. So anyway, by the time we were ready to leave, Andrew had magically became un-lethargic. He jumped out of the hospital bed and started doing his Happy Feet dance! He started to smile and laugh! Until this point he didn’t crack a smile or say one word. I was so happy to see that the Motrin did work. They prescribed him the usual amoxicillan and motrin and sent us on our way.
I went to the pharmacy and bought him 2 balls because he was so ill… he wouldn’t let go of them at all. I think he’ll be alright. We want him well enough to fly on an airplane in a week. I’m thankful that it happened now instead of while we were gone!
In other news, I just cleaned my carpet like 4 days ago and already i’ve got smooshed in blueberries and strawberries. Messy kids! I have to carpet clean again in a little bit! I went to Schwartz Greenhouse in Romulus yesterday and bought like $70 worth of flowers. I love gardening. I bought some perennials as well as annuals. I really love the flowers that come back year after year. Less to plant the next year! It was a bit stormy today so I didn’t get a chance to plant them. Hopefully by tomorrow i’ll get them in the ground!
Grrr.. I went out side and found that the dog dug a small hole in my newly planeted grass area. Sometimes he irks me!! Aside from that hole, my grassy area is growing very well. My strawberry plants are blooming like crazy too!
