Neighbor & Stuff
So here is the obituary for my poor neighbor who was murdered at home. From what I gather from acquaintences, a-hole Jim was a schizophrenic who *naturally* didn’t have his medications. His mother came home from grocery shopping and took her canned goods to the basement, which was Jim’s domain, where he then jumped out and brutally stabbed her to death. I emphasize the word naturally because that is going to be a classic defense from whatever dirtbag attorney represents him. I’m sure he’ll try to get out of it on an insanity defense, I say good luck, because I like that 1st degree murder charge. Too bad Michigan has no death penalty.
SHIELDS, IRENE; of Southgate; July 4, 2012; age 86. Beloved wife of the late James; loving mother of Rainelle (Bob) Stephenson, Duane, Larry (Victoria), and James; dearest grandmother of Jennifer, Julia, Lara, Monica, Scott, and Marty (Lisa); dear sister of Henry (Deanna) Juback and the late Walter and Delores Drewno; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Irene was a homemaker who devoted her life to loving and supporting her family. She loved to crochet and was an active member of The Southgate Seniors for 26 years.
So anyway, I missed the funeral, caught the obit too late. Oddly enough my friend Julie’s close next door neighbor was friends as well and attended the funeral. It’s a small world, I had no idea they knew each other.
It’s been a boring week so far. This is the last week of baseball, well, aside from like one game next week I think. That craziness finally ends. Summer might actually get boring for a month. Naturally my kids will act their worse this next month though so it will still keep me on my toes. Maybe it’s possible I will get a vacation in August if I’m lucky. A vacation really isn’t a vacation though because my life won’t change, it will just move from Monroe to wherever I end up going on vacation at, LOL. Now a vacation for me would be a week without the kids somewhere! Well, Florida could be a vacation too, but getting there is still the challenge!! The last time I went on a road trip my 4th child was growing about 22 weeks along inside of me 🙂 I can’t believe it’s even been that long, and she’s going to be 2 in October. Wow, actually it’s almost right on 2 years to the day we went on that trip! I miss my Disney — gotta get me some Disney sometime, ha ha. Yes, sometimes adults love Disney just as much as kids.
Matt is constantly interviewing for other jobs. I guess he really wants out of General Electric. He’s interviewed with a lot of big name companies the past few weeks. This week alone we have Compuware in Detroit, and now Amazon.com wants to open a new software center in Detroit. If he only worked for Amazon, which is my shopping heaven. When I die, they could just bury me in the middle of an Amazon.com warehouse 🙂 Nothing is better! I wonder if there is an employee discount!! when he worked for Computer Associates, bonuses were handed out in Amazon gift cards. I had to be one of their biggest customers, LOL. I spent thousands of dollars on that website every year. So his wanting a new job is really getting in the way of any real plans for a vacation. I won’t disrupt that process and don’t want to hurt the process any.
This last week I haven’t done any creative anything. I think the balloon finally just popped and can’t handle it right now. I haven’t done one craft, haven’t crocheted a single stitch or drawn a single line. I’m at a standstill with multitasking! Maybe next week i’ll do something. I’m a big blaaaaaahhhhhh at the moment. The plus side to the creative downswing is that I have slept every night. For some reason when my mind gets going I tend to not sleep, so that’s a benefit. Hey, maybe I’m just returning to the normal boring me? I hope not!
Ugh, I’m gonna miss out on some of the festivals I naturally attend. Uncle Sam Jam is this weekend which will not have my attendance, and that sucks. I guess I will wait for the Monroe County Fair, which is nice and close to me down the road. This year has really sucked, I haven’t had time to do anything I have wanted to do. My goal for next year is to make sure I attend the Grosse Ile festival, Cedar Point, Uncle Sam Jam, Monroe County Fair, St. Pius festival and some other ones I haven’t been too yet. I go strictly for the food, so where there is good food you’ll find me 🙂 I want me some fried oreos! I know how to make them on my own, but nothing beats dirty grease fried oreos, lol. I can’t replicate the dirty grease at home unfortunately! I usually like to meet my nasty goal of having at least 1 elephant ear per YEAR, two whole fried oreos, and a sausage with onions and peppers – all carnie fried! I also gotta get my fill on arguing with dirty carnies about how tall my kids are and how much of my change they stole when i wasn’t paying attention. Happens every year! Last year going to the monroe county fair my son tugged and pulled at his bracelet all day long and at one point they were rejected admission to rides because the bracelets looked altered, and went through a good argument proving that I wasn’t taking old bracelets and re-using them. I was about to kill then, so he better not do it this year! They made me out to be a thief so I could have smashed through their protective glass and assassinated some carnie butt for doing that to me, but i’ll get over it. I’m taking pictures of the bracelet buying process this year for sure!!!
Well it’s time for dinner, BBQ chicken and baked potatoes tonight!
